Kemble’s Cascade

Kemble’s Cascade is a lovely binocular object in the constellation of Camelopardalis and is readily found with the aid of Cassiopeia. If you look at the top two stars of the W and then go the same distance to the left (in the chart) you are in the right region to find Kemble’s Cascade.

It was only discovered in 1980 but is just an asterism (ie just a chance alignment of stars).
None the less it is still a beautiful object to look at.
The image was taken with a Canon 40D camera with 200mm lens and consists of 25 x 2 minute exposures stacked in Deep Sky Stacker and processed in Photoshop.
At the end of Kemble’s Cascade is a small open cluster of stars ngc1502 which can be seen HERE
