
| M27 - Dumbell Nebula, also known as the Hour-glass Nebula or the
Apple-core Nebula. This is a planetary nebula in the constellation
Vulpecula. It has a diameter of 1.2 light-years and at a distance of 815
light-years. The gaseous material was blown from the blue-dwarf star at
the centre some 48,000 years ago. |
| Technical details. Taken through a VC200L Vixen telescope at prime focus (f = 1800mm, D = 200mm, f 9) Camera used Canon 20Da 44 exposures each of 30s at iso 1600. Stacked using ImagesPlus and processed in Photoshop. Taken on 15/09/2007 at the Kelling Heath star party, Norfolk, UK. |
